Expansive Care

An immersive two-hour workshop for care practitioners to develop a more affirming and inclusive approach to their practice

What we explore

  • Positionality

Building a foundational understanding of positionality and intersectionality. Reflecting on our intersecting identities - how these impact worked view and working relationships. Identifying what inclusive care can mean.

  • Bias

Identifying how bias lives within systems, society and ourselves. Checking our bias and exploring ways to hold complexities. Learning ways to challenge internal and external bias.

  • Accountability

Tools for accountability and growth. Putting this learning into practice, further resources and active ways to practise ongoing learning.

People i’ve worked with and trained

"I approached Lilli to facilitate a bias workshop with my group of student practitioners. I knew the learning would be invaluable as part of their degree learning. However, I don't think I expected such amazing, thought-provoking discussions to result from their time with Lilli. Lilli created a safe environment, where they gently challenge bias within the group, in a productive and open manner. The confidence of the group in their understanding and ability to discuss issues of bias is greatly increased. Lilli provided wonderful resources which the group has since followed up on. The non-judgemental, non-hierarchical session was a great experience for all and means the students will graduate this summer as far better practitioners, with a deeper understanding of the issues around bias, how it shows up, and realising the lifelong commitment to learning and unlearning behaviour. This should be seen as essential training for anyone who wants to work in a position of care."
